A little bit of my story:
It wasn’t long ago that I was sitting at a table during a booster draft and picked a card from a pack and passed the rest to my left.
When the guy next to me picked up the pack he snickered – as in actually made a vocal sound of derision – when he saw what I passed him.
My spirits sank.
I immediately thought “What did I pass?!? Was it something I should have picked? What did I miss?” I felt dumb and deflated.
After that night, I started actively trying to improve my drafting skills by consuming content in the form of articles, videos and podcasts.
I've also been guilty of copying a deck and sideboard from the internet and then having no idea which cards were good in certain match-ups. Sideboarding was a disaster and my win rate suffered as a result.
